Special Gift for Mom
Surprise photo sesh for mom... what a wonderful time to get together son, daughter, daughter-in-law, soon-to-be son-in-law, and grandson. Part engagement, part holiday, part for fun, these are the moments you want to capture and cherish. Family is the most important thing. All can pass away, but the memories and love you have with your family is something you want to hold onto forever. They know this first hand, and I'm so happy that they can keep these photos of them laughing, hugging, and kissing FOREVER.

The Bakers
It is always a good time with the Bakers. Kevin is hilarious, even when he is battling a cold. Smiles and kisses are never forced and I love capturing how much this family adores each other! Katie made some things to bring to the shoot that they wanted to use for Christmas cards and presents! I LOVED the ideas she had and I'm ALWAYS up for handmade props! They are just so special! She wanted to make signs for each of the grandparents (Big Daddy, Gammie, Papa and Bubba)... So each of them can have a picture of baby Brody in a customized way. SO cute.
Happy Holidays!

Debbie & Colton
Debbie told me she would love some pics with her 5 year old son, Colton, but she wasn't sure if he's be into the whole picture thing. I assured her that we could go somewhere he enjoyed and catch him "in the moment." They choose the playground. When I asked Colton is he enjoyed cookies or playing more.. he yelled playing!
Everything was a race or a "bet you can't do (fill in the blank)" game but we managed to snag some great pics of him and his mommy!

Sweet Cousins 1st Christmas
It's so crazy how fast babies grow. When you spend every day looking at that little cutie, you often forget how much they've grown since birth. Holding Meredith's tiny baby boy London (born on Halloween) was such a sweet moment reminiscing when my Kinsley was that little 6 months ago. Brooklyn and London are cousins. Brooklyn was born just one month later than Kins. I have had playdates with her mom, Alyssa, and was excited when her sister, Meredith wanted to bring London over for some photos! I'm slightly jealous these sisters have babies so close in age. I KNOW they are just having the BEST time being new mommies together. What a wonderful thing. Maybe i'll catch my sis next baby round haha. These two girls are such great mommies!
London Starr on the Left and Brooklyn June on the Right. Such cute names for such cute babies! Love their matching facial expressions in this pic!
London and Brooklyn, I hope you guys are best buds! Have a very merry FIRST Christmas!

Tis the Season to be Jolly
Tis the season for fun holiday photoshoots! Photoshoots are not only fun, but they give your family a time to be together and laugh. They also result in great gifts for the holidays to give to friends and fam! I met Tara, Chris, Ally and Grace down in NoDa and took some fun pics in the park and up 36th street. I loved their enthusiasm about all the shots and the not-so-posed poses. They jumped right in to the smiles and giggles and just being them and I think these pics show how fun they are!

Hurst mini holiday soiree
Bryleigh was born just 4 days before my baby Kinsley. Sarah and I met often just to talk about pregnancy and all the new things that go along with being a first time mom. Since May, we have gotten our girls together pretty often and I can honestly say I LOVE watching miss Bryleigh grow and grow!
Tonight we got their little fam together for a mini holiday session and boy did they look cute! Coordinating outfits is always a task but they did it perfectly!

Outfit Inspiration
Wondering what to wear on your shoot? I know the feeling... should we all wear the same color, same fabric, or what colors go together?
When asked, I tell my clients to wear what represents them, but they don't all have to wear khakis and a white shirt... you can mix and match patterns and colors, but all should complement each other. Need visuals? Here are some to inspire your wardrobe:
For Families & Couples:
For Singles:
I recommend a lot of accessories (maybe not to wear all at once, but I love cool hats (fedoras, newsboy, cowboy, etc), statement necklaces, headbands and bows, ties, or fun glasses.) Accessories can also change up your look without having to change outfits a bunch of times, too.
Kids:
Think about the season, location, and the feel of your photo.
Color Combos:
Enjoy raiding your closet or the mall for your next shoot :)!

Fighting for Love
Lisa contacted me for a mini session and told me she had just gotten engaged. They drove all the way down from Fayetteville! Matt and Lisa are both in the Army and deploy in February. They met in the Army about a year and a half ago and he surprised her with a proposal just over a month ago. Ahhhh new love *sigh*... they couldn't get enough kisses and cuddles... I'd say "okay go in for the "almost kiss" and stop" but they had already smooched before I finished haha. He made her giggle. She made him smitten.
"Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone when the letter said
A soldier's coming home"

Sardis Mini Sessions
Sardis Presbyterian invited me to photograph families for their church. It was great to see generations of families that have been involved at the same church for years and years. Such community and such love comes through!
